An advisory committee commissioned by the VA recommended further research about the potential link between combat service and MS.
Congress has allocated nearly $10 million for MS research under the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs at the Department of Defense.
But for now, the causes of MS remain a mystery. Eisler isn't as quick to link it to his service time as his wife is.
“I have no idea,” Eisler said. “Agent Orange — but yet there's a lot of people that got subjected to Agent Orange. They're not walking around with MS.”
